Can I build an employee portal without coding?
Yes. Describe the employee tasks, information and views you need, and ask Teable Agent to build the app. Start with one process, review it with the people who use it and refine the design through conversation.
What should I include first?
Choose a repeated task such as equipment requests or new-starter preparation. Add the fields, owner and status needed to complete it. You can add a resource library or more request types once the first workflow is useful.
Can employees see only their own information?
Configure the relevant access rules for each role and record type, then test them with representative accounts before adding private employee data. A filtered screen alone is not a permission boundary. Review both the app and its underlying data access.
Can requests need a manager's approval?
Yes. Build a request record with an approver, status and decision fields, then configure the approval steps and notifications. Make it clear which person decides and what happens when a request is returned for more information.
Can it use our existing tools and documents?
You can upload source materials and choose supported connectors in Teable. Check the permissions and available actions for the particular system you want to use. Keep sensitive records out of public resources and connect only the data the portal needs.
Can I try building an employee portal for free?
Yes. Teable’s Free plan includes App Builder and 200 one-time credits at sign-up to try creating and refining apps with AI. Usage depends on the task and the changes you request; the allowance does not renew monthly.
What happens when my free credits run out?
